Automated client reporting, starting with the writing.
Reporting is five chores: collect the numbers, write the explanation, lay it out, schedule it, and send it. Matcha automates two of them, the writing and the layout, and this page says where the other three stand.

What Matcha automates
Once you have numbers, the drafting happens on its own. You paste figures, a CSV or up to five screenshots, and Matcha:
- reads the numbers and shows you what it found, with anything it was unsure of flagged
- works out the change from last period where you have both figures, and still uses a row that only has this month’s
- writes the report with the result first, then why it moved, then what’s next
- follows the draft with a question card when a big move has no explanation in your notes
- adds a note under any figure in the text that doesn’t trace back to your numbers
You read the draft, change what you like, and the link is ready.
Where the other chores stand
| Chore | Who does it | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Collecting the numbers | You paste them, upload a CSV or add screenshots | Manual. Pulling from Google accounts is in testing and isn’t open to the public |
| Writing the explanation | Matcha drafts it and you edit | Automated |
| Laying it out | Matcha sets a layout you can change | Automated |
| Scheduling | Nobody. Matcha doesn’t run reports on a schedule | Not built |
| Sending | You copy the link and send it | Manual. Emailing the link is on the Pro early access list |
Nothing goes out on its own. Matcha never contacts your client, and you decide when the link is sent.
Why start with the writing
The charts are the quick part. The slow part is the paragraph under each one, the one that says why reach rose and what you did about it. That paragraph is also where automation can do harm, because a reason nobody checked reads just as confidently as one that was.
So the draft uses only what’s in your numbers and notes. When a cause isn’t there, the report says “not confirmed”, and Matcha then asks you with a question card. This is what one looks like.
Question. Reach fell 18%, from 35,000 to 28,700. Did anything change?
Your answer. I paused Stories for two weeks while traveling.
In the report. Reach fell 18% to 28,700. Stories were paused for two weeks. Next month, watch whether reach recovers now that they’re back.
If you skip the card, the report keeps “not confirmed” and the one thing to check.
Where to start
The quickest way to see the automated part is to run it on figures you already have. The marketing report, Instagram report and quarterly business review pages each work as the tool: paste last month’s figures and read the draft.
Questions
- Does Matcha send reports automatically?
- No. Nothing is scheduled and nothing is sent for you. Matcha writes the draft, and you copy the link into your own email or message.
- Can it pull my numbers by itself?
- Collecting stays with you. A Google connection exists in testing and isn’t open to the public, and no other platform is connected.
- Do I still read the report before it goes out?
- Yes. Matcha drafts and you decide what goes out. Click any paragraph to change it, or ask for it shorter, warmer or plainer.
- Will scheduled reports come later?
- They aren’t built, and there’s no date to give. When that changes, this page will say so.
- Is this free?
- Yes, with no account needed. A fair use limit applies each day. Pro is $49 a month, and early access is open on the home page.
- What happens to my client's numbers?
- When Claude writes the report, it reads them and your notes. A CSV is read in your browser, and screenshots are read once and dropped. We keep the report, which quotes the figures it explains, and drop the numbers themselves. Turn on 'Show the numbers table on the link' in Share to show them as a table on the shared link. A nickname works in place of the client's real name.
