What moved
Leads went from to . Website visits rose to , and clicks from search rose to , so search grew faster than total visits.
Ad spend rose from to , and cost per lead fell to . With more leads on a similar budget, the lower cost follows from the arithmetic.
Social reach fell from to . The cause is not confirmed. We will check whether the posting schedule changed between the two months.
Why it matters
Leads are what Larkspur pays for, and they grew while the budget barely moved. The reach dip is small, and worth a look before it becomes a pattern.
Next month
Compare October's posting schedule with September's to explain the reach dip. Keep ad spend at so next month's cost per lead compares cleanly.

The monthly rhythm
A monthly report works because it repeats. The client sees the same six numbers in the same order, so a change stands out without anyone pointing at it. This template uses website visits, clicks from search, social reach, leads, ad spend and cost per lead.
Pick the rows once per client and keep them. Swapping metrics between months makes a comparison impossible, and a report that can't compare is a list. If a client's goals change, change the rows on purpose and say so in the notes.
The two columns are labeled last month and this month, and Matcha reads every change from them: a percent for counts, points for rates, and the right direction for costs, where lower is better.
What to write when the month was quiet
Some months nothing moves. Visits are within a few percent, leads are the same, and the pull is to find a story anyway. Don't.
A flat month is a result: the channels held steady. Say it in a sentence, mention what you did to keep it that way, and move on to next month's plan. Clients trust a report that can say "steady" more than one that finds drama every time.
When a number fell, the same honesty applies. Matcha marks a drop with no explanation in your notes as not confirmed and names one check, like whether the posting schedule changed, so the client sees a plan.
Month-end with five reports due
The days around the first of the month are when the work piles up. Five clients means five sets of numbers, five stories, and about an hour of writing each.
A routine helps. Pull each client's numbers into the same six rows in one sitting, run each through the tool, then spend your time on the notes.
The notes carry the weight. "Moved the budget to the weekend campaign on the 12th" lets the report tie a move to its cause. Leave it out and the cause stays not confirmed.
Questions
Is this free?
Yes, with no account needed. A fair use limit applies each day. Pro is $49 a month, and early access is open on the home page.
Can I compare with the same month last year?
Yes. Add last year's figure to the notes box and Matcha compares against it as well. Without it, the report doesn't guess at seasonal patterns.
Does it remember last month's numbers?
No. The finished report keeps the figures it quotes, so last month's report holds the numbers you need for the Last month column. Enter both columns each time.
How many rows do I need?
As few as one. A row with only this month is written up as it stands, and anything left blank is skipped.
Can I change how the report is laid out?
Yes. Once it's written, the toolbar lets you switch between a letter, a briefing and a one pager, and change the headline style and paper.
What happens to my client's numbers?
When Claude writes the report, it reads them and your notes. A CSV is read in your browser, and screenshots are read once and dropped. We keep the report, which quotes the figures it explains, and drop the numbers themselves. Turn on 'Show the numbers table on the link' in Share to show them as a table on the shared link. A nickname works in place of the client's real name.
