About quarterly business review reports

Put this quarter's numbers next to last quarter's. You get a written review you can send before the meeting, ending with what to focus on next quarter. Where the cause of a big move isn't confirmed, it says so. No signup, no card, no limit on clients.

What goes in a quarterly business review

A QBR is often the report that decides renewals. The monthly report goes to whoever runs the account. The quarterly one gets forwarded to the owner or the finance director, who has five minutes and one question: did the marketing pay for itself?

So it needs fewer numbers than a monthly report, and different ones. Website visits and leads show whether more people turned up and got in touch. Conversion rate shows whether the site got better at turning visits into leads. Revenue, spend and cost per lead answer the money question directly. Followers can go at the end if you run social.

Compare each number with the quarter before. If you have the same quarter last year, add it in the notes box, because a Q4 that looks weak next to Q3 can still be the best Q4 the client has had.

Then end on what happens next. Two or three priorities for next quarter, each one tied to a number in the review. That section is what the meeting ends up being about.

Why a written QBR beats a slide of charts

A lot of QBR decks are thirty slides of screenshots and one summary slide someone wrote at midnight. The client reads the summary slide and skips the rest.

This page writes that summary for you, in paragraphs, from your numbers and anything you tell it about the quarter. It opens as a briefing, three lines on top and the detail underneath, so someone short on time can stop after the top. You can switch it to a letter or a one pager before you write.

Send the link a day before the meeting and the hour can go on what to do next.

Questions

Is this free?
Yes. Unlimited clients, unlimited reports. You do not need an account to use the tool on this page.
Can I compare with the same quarter last year?
The form compares two quarters side by side. Put last year's figures in the box for what happened this quarter, for example "Same quarter last year we had 391 leads", and the review will compare against them too.
Which currency does it use?
Any currency. Type the figures without a currency sign. Revenue and spend come out as plain numbers, so a report in pounds or euros reads the same as one in dollars.
Does it know a lower cost per lead is better?
Yes. A drop from 45 to 41 shows in green and the writing counts it as progress.
Do I have to fill in every row?
No. Leave out anything you do not track and the review skips it. One row with both quarters filled in is enough to write from.
Can I edit what it writes?
Copy the text and change anything you like. Treat it as a first draft built from your numbers.
What happens to my client's numbers?
When Claude writes the report, it reads them and your notes. A CSV is read in your browser, and screenshots are read once and dropped. We keep the report, which quotes the figures it explains, and drop the numbers themselves. Turn on 'Show the numbers table on the link' in Share to show them as a table on the shared link. A nickname works in place of the client's real name.
